Legacy
Our Mission:
Dance Legacy is
committed to providing professional instruction and education in
dance, within an atmosphere where students are encouraged,
challenged and nurtured to enjoy, create and express themselves
Dance Legacy was
formed, as the name implies; to pass on a quality of dance to those
who seek it. At Dance Legacy, we focus on providing proper
instruction in classical ballet, Character dance and Creative
movement. We combine an extensive, adapted Vaganova syllabus with a
thoughtful and nurturing approach. We focus on teaching our
students proper body alignment, a strong foundation in ballet
technique and a creative approach to the art of dance.
Our classes are
designed to introduce dance to a variety of students beginning with
Creative Movement continuing through Advanced Ballet.
Our Creative
Movement classes give the children an opportunity to create their
own movements. This class teaches confidence, independence, spatial
awareness, rhythm, mathematical concepts and pre-literacy.
Pre-ballet and
beginning ballet introduces basic ballet positions, exercises,
gentle stretching, coordination and basics of Character Dance, as
well as the basics of Acting for ballet.
Pre-Intermediate
Ballet through Advanced classes continue to enhance what has already
been learned and build on the basic foundations to increase the
students’ proficiency through the ballet program developed by
Agrippina
Vaganova.
